Which Celebrity Body Type are You?

After reading this, you'll find out that you have more in common with the below sexpots than you thought. To help you highlight your best assets when dressing, I've created a cheat sheet with the best shapes and cuts for each of the main body types. Whether you're a size 4 or 12, you'll find these tips and tricks to be useful. Keep in mind that this is a general list, so your body type may not fall perfectly into any one category. You may be a hybrid like me (pear and apple, baby!). Knowing what may flatter certain parts of your body can make for a much better trip to the fitting room (aka "the room with the mean mirror and bad lighting").

If you're lucky, it may go something like this...
You: "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"
Fitting Room Mirror: "Girl, that bodycon dress is everything on you! Get it!"

And above all, never forget that the best thing you can wear is confidence! Work it, own it, love yourself and it's all good from there.

Beyonce aka Pear Shape
THE BEYONCE AKA PEAR SHAPE:
You and bootylicious Queen B are what the baby boomers refer as having "good birthing hips". They are wider than your shoulders. Aim to balance your body by drawing attention upwards to your fab Colgate smile. And remember, the best way to keep that smile looking brilliant is by not pissing off Solange.Truth.

Tops
Bright colors and bold prints draw the eye up, away from the hips
Interesting collars and embellishment add volume and dimension which create balance
Avoid hemlines that hit at the widest part of the hips

Bottoms
Bootcut jeans in dark washes minimize and balance wide hips
A-line and swing skirts in thick fabrics slim the hips
Avoid clingy fabrics and large prints which emphasize the hips

Dresses
A-line and fit and flare styles skim hips in a flattering way
Thick fabrics provide structure
Avoid pencil cuts and sheath dresses which overemphasize broad hips

Kate Upton aka Apple Shape
THE KATE UPTON AKA APPLE SHAPE:
You and sex symbol Kate, carry most of your weight in your middle. Your waist isn't defined, but you have killer legs and an impressively ample bosom. The best way to flatter your figure is by minimizing volume around your midsection, and drawing attention to your best assets...face, shoulders, legs, and of course...the twins.

Tops
V, scoop, and boat neck tops balance your frame
Small prints and dark colors help minimize your midsection
Empire cuts highlight the smallest part of your waist
Stick to clean lines which minimize bulk
Avoid horizontal stripes, and pockets near the midsection, or thin clingy fabrics

Bottoms
Bootcut, straight, and wide leg styles create balance
Mid rise, and thick waist bands minimize muffin tops
Structured pencil and a-line skirts at or above the knee elongate legs and break up the midsection
Avoid pleats as they widen the torso

Dresses
Empire and a-line styles which skim the hips
Shift dresses which flow over the waist
Avoid tie and elastic waists, as well as horizontal stripes, as they widen your frame

Kim aka Hourglass Shape
THE KIM K AKA HOURGLASS SHAPE:
You and Mrs. Kardashian West are a living, breathing version of Jessica Rabbit. That's how unreal your body is. Your hips and bust are balanced, and you have a tiny waist. Flatter your figure with fitted pieces that highlight your envious middle, and maybe skip Kim K's approach by leaving something to the imagination.

Tops
V, scoop, boat, sweetheart necklines minimize large busts
Tailored tops and jackets highlight the waist
Light flowing fabrics; not stiff or chunky fabrics which will bury your figure
Avoid high necklines which create a top-heavy look
Avoid anything that creates added volume such as pleating or ruffles

Bottoms
Bootcut or wide leg styles balance out the hips
Mid to high-rise bottoms highlight your curves and small waist
A-line skirts (with fitted tops)
Avoid low-rise as it cuts oddly into curves and creates a stubby look
Avoid anything that creates added volume such as cargo pockets or pleating

Dresses
Wrap, a-line, and sheath styles flatter curves
Anything that cinches to highlight your small waist
Belt non-waist defining dresses, to avoid the dreaded tent effect

Cameron Diaz aka Straight Shape
THE CAMERON DIAZ AKA STRAIGHT SHAPE:
You and Cameron are totally Sporty Spice with your athletic body shape. Your shoulders, waist, and hips line up, giving you an undefined waist. Your bust is probably small, but mighty! Your styling goal is to create the illusion of a waist and curves like your girl Hourglass.

Tops
Peplum, ruffles, and panelling creates volume which resembles curves
V, boat, and off-the-shoulder styles break up straight shapes
Belted pieces highlight the smallest part of your waist
Fitted layering pieces define the waist
Prints, especially large ones, give the illusion of curves
Avoid fabrics that are tight, they only highlight your straight shape
Adding rounded accessories (necklace, earrings, etc) trick the eye into seeing curves

Bottoms
Asymmetrical or curved hemlines create shape
Peplum creates volume along the hip line, making you look curvier
Prints make hips look more rounded
A-line skirts in flowy fabrics = vavavoom hips
Tucking and belts help define the waist
Pencil skirts with a flowy top creates volume
Contrast bottom and top colors to break up straight shapes (ex: bold top with dark bottom)

Dresses
Anything flowy will help create curves
A-line and fit and flare styles = hourglass shape
Body-con styles with color-blocking or asymmetrical cuts break up your straight shape
Avoid shapeless, billowy shift dresses which emphasize your straight shape

Now that you have learned a little about what you should reach for on your shopping endeavors, go forth and prosper ladies!
